Today is Mexican Mother’s Day. This is my ama. Whom I love with all my heart. My ama is one of the best ama’s in the world. Like my Abuelita always tells me, “Esta si es madre, no nada mas cualquier chingadera.” She’s so right about that.

Once when I was a kid, I saw this movie where this kid died. It scared the crap out of me. I knew about death, but a kid dying, that was unheard of in my mind. I couldn’t sleep for a week and my ama finally asked me what was wrong. I told her, and then asked, “Ama, arn’t you scared of dying?”

She said, no. I asked her why, and she said, “Look, you know the most important thing to me in my life are you, your sister, and your brothers. I wake up every morning being the best mom I can be and giving the best of me to each of you. I know that if it’s my time and God decides he wants me next to his side, that everyday I have given you guys the best of me. That is what is most important to me in my life.”

She stands true to her word. I’m living proof. Such beauty, as myself, couldnt have come from anything else. (*wink wink*) lol

And also, to the lady that needs no introduction and has spoiled me rotten since the day i took my first breath, mi Abuelita preciosa. . .who is the rock in my apa’s side of the family!

And to all you mamacita’s and mamazota’s out there, who work very hard on a daily basis to keep your kids happy, the husband content, and who don’t clock out after 5 p.m., a big hug from me to you. You deserve a whole month dedicated to you, not just a day. It’s hard work raising kids, now-a-days, putting up with an adult kid (the hubby) and looking fatabulous doing it. But don’t stop. Because you are what makes this world a better place!
