May 2006 – It was a tough month for me. My abuelita had heart surgery this month. It was the first time she had serious surgery. I remember that day of her surgery so clearly. I went through a rollercoaster of emotions that day. Thankfully everything went well, yay!
June 2006 – went on my first blind date in years. I’m not too much into blind dates. It went okay, but blind dates are just not for me. I started my photography classes with Vicky. I loved my photography class!!! I learned a lot of things. Mavs lost the playoffs and I watched that game with Imelda and Guero. Not a fun day.
July 2006 – went to Mexico this month for a mini-vacation. Volunteered for the Buddha Project.
August 2006 – This was a long month for me. I was sick from work a lot, I was at the doctors a lot, and finally found out I had pulmonary arterial hypertension. =\ not hawt but I deal with it.
September 2006 – I decided not to go back to school. Was that a bad thing? Hmm, I say no, some don’t agree.
October 2006 – My sister graduated and we had a big party. Lots of family came over from McAllen, yay! They hardly ever visit. Good times, good times.
November 2006 – Came up with my life soundtrack and got my princess. Took my first Mother to be shoot with my primita when I visited family in McAllen. Basketball season started!! GO MAVS!
December 2006 – started to get better at portraits with my new camera, took some good pictures of my friend Alicia. My niece, Sophia, was born. Awe. I got to meet my first (not living in Dallas) blogger friend in person, Laurie!! YAY!!! She came to Dallas just to visit me or for the cowboys game or something like that. LOL. I was on Yahoo’s Year End review, for the immigration issues. That was cool!!! Went through a couple of rough weeks with my younger brother. Ugh, teenagers.
January 2007 – I sold my first print for some major mula out of the blue. I was so proud! It snowed in Dallas!!! Met my second blogger (not from Dallas) in person. HP came to Dallas on business and he bossed me around the mall, he did too, ask him. Wait. . .I said that like it’s so hard to believe. LOL
February 2007 – The Cowboys didn’t go to the superbowl, but I still partied at the supa-bowl party! One of my favorite co-workers, Jeff (aka Buffman), quit working where I worked before and it was hard to accept since he was one of my favorite co-workers. A little light bulb started forming over my head. Hmmmm. . .
March 2007 – Alicia at my old job quit when she found a better position. I bit the bullet and applied for a new job. I couldn’t take my old job anymore. I also went to visit Laurie in Houston. My first road-trip by myself and the first time I had ever been to Houston. I ended getting a job a photography studio as a studio manager’s assistant.
April 2007 – Started my new job at the Photography studio and learned of a new type of joy. There’s nothing like working with fantastic people and doing what you love to do on a daily basis. . and getting paid for it. I still pinch myself occasionally.
May 2007 – Converted HP. Hehe. Here I am now. Loving my new job, surrounded by fantastic people, and anxiously awaiting the Mavs to win the playoff’s next year.
Overall, my year wasn’t too shabby. It was actually pretty good. A couple of rough patches, but nothing too bad. I hope this year is better, it seems to get better little by little. Mostly due to maturity and learning my lessons more often!
Yes, 26 was a good year.
So, another year older. . .don’t feel different. LOL
