I just finished doing my laundry.

Truth is, I should have been ready yesterday…errr Wednesday.  I fly out to Chicago at 9:15 a.m.  It’s 12:44 and I still have one more thing to finish for work.  It’s okay, i’ll be wide awake tomorrow regardless of the lack of sleep.

I’m so excited about this trip.  Back in February of 2001, before the word “Blog” was introduced into the English language, I was bored out of my mind working for the government.  I was crusing the net when I came across a website that was an online journal community.  No, not live journal, another one.  So I started my online journal and started to write almost on a daily basis.  I wrote the stupidest crap. . .hey i haven’t changed much..lol…

So now it’s June 2008 and I’m still a part of this community.  Along the journey of 1722 entries and 12468 comments, I came across 4 amazing girls from all around the US.  We all became pretty close.  IMing each other, reading up on each others lives, exchanging phone numbers and calling each other when things were really bad or things were really good or just because.

Nancy, Laura, Brianna, and Jaqui.  These girls are all amazing.  Imelda, my friend is part of this community too and is in the circle. .but she’s no big deal. . i’ve know HER for ages. lol. Our ages range from early 20’s to early 30’s.  Well last year we all decided we should plan a trip.  Thing is, it’s hard to get us all together.  So many things happen. Marriage, kids, seperation, divorce, Ph.D. loans to pay off, engagements. . .you know, it’s hard to get us togther.  So instead of trying to get a big one week thing planned out in some isolated island where no one knows our name, we just decided all to meet up at one of our cities for th weekend.

Nancy flew in from N.Y. this afternoon.

Bri flew in from Florida.

Jacqui had to cancel.

Laura lives in Chicago.

Imelda and I fly out tomorrow morning.

We have absolutely nothing planned.  We are winging the entire thing.  All we want is to finally meet each other in person.  It’s so surreal.  We’ve all known each other and about eachother for years and years. .it’s like we’re hanging out with long lost friends. . yet we’ve never had the opportunity to meet.

I’m so freakin’ excited.
