I have to admit, I love technology.
I’m a geek of sorts. You ever come across a person that just stares blankly at a computer when a problem occurs. Their blank stares and constant panic of this “thing” in front of them that has an error always humors me. I see it as a challenge. The panic in their eyes just makes me laugh (inside of course) because sometimes the issue is something that can be fixed as easily as pushing one button.
I use to work with this retired/rehired older man who didn’t know anything about computers. He thought of them as an enemy or something. Every time something would go “wrong” I’d hear, “Claudia-girl, can you come here for a minute.” It became an office joke after awhile, you’d hear “Claudia-girl” every time something went wrong in the office, despite if I could fix it or not.
But my favorite thing about technology is the webs. Oh how I love the webs.
This morning I woke up to freezing rain stuck to my poor little Sally (my car) who was very much enjoying the 80 degree weather on Saturday. I started to apply for a couple of positions here and there and realized that if it wasn’t for the web, then I’d be stuck driving all around the Dallas area dropping off my resume in the awful weather. How did people do it “back then?” Hahaha…
And it allows me the freedom to LMAO when I read certain job descriptions with work conditions as follow:
Frequent climbing, balancing, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, talking, seeing, hearing, stooping, kneeling, and fingering.
Yes, it’s for a Graphic Designer position. I got the talking thing down.
Bwahaha.
