Hola!

Still thinking about what to put here. What do you want to know?

May Flowers

I’ve mentioned this before and I’ll mention it again, I love May.

I said it back in December that both May and December are my favorite months of the year because it’s when the best movies come out in the theater.

I have to admit, I saw every movie in my “excited to see” list I wrote back in December.  I’ve even seen the X-men Origins Movie.  To be honest, I didn’t like it. Incredible action. Great cinematography!  Five thumbs up for giving me yummy Jackman and Reynolds fantasies.  But, that was about it for me. It didn’t follow the comics. I hate that, I really try to wrap my mind around the screenwriters and why the do what they do…still it’s not the same, you know? *le sigh*

So being May 1st, I thought I’d let you know what I’m excited to see and why.  My reasons are cadish, just fyi. haha

Star Trek – The origin story of Captain James T. Kirk.  Even if you’re not a Star Trek fan, I think this might pull you more into the liking it side. It’s not like granpa’s Star Trek. MY GOD i love technology and geeks.  See what geeks do? See?!! They’re amazing.  I LOVE YOU GEEKS!

Rudo y Cursi – Director Carlos Cuarón, who also directed Y tu mamá también…Gael García Bernal and Diego Luna star in it. Enough said.

Angels & Demons – Ron Howard is incredible, I’ve liked Tom Hanks since Big and Joe vs. the volcano (”These lights give me a headache; if they don’t give you a headache, you must be dead, so let’s arrange the funeral!”), but I can assure you, without a doubt, the book is still better.

The Brothers Bloom – I would ASK Mark Ruffalo to marry me if i ever met him in person. He’s just…sexy to me! He’s all scruffy in the movie too, that’s like sexy times 100!  And Rachel Weisz is a gorgeous actress.

Night at the Museum
: Battle of the Smithsonian – Yes, I really am just a kid at heart.

Up – *sigh* I think Pixar came into existence just for me sometimes. I love their movies, even the documentary (The Pixar Story). If you haven’t seen it, RUN AND GO RENT IT! It’s awesome.  I love Pixar, i got all their Blu-Rays. Even though this movie was directed by Pete Doctor and not the ever so brillant John Lasseter (who started it all)..it’s okay, because Lasseter is busy working on Toy Story 3 (wooohooo!)

Land of the Lost – Will Ferrell. Yes he’s an ass, but he’s hilarious! I love to watch Ferrell movies with great company with an awesome sense of humor and a bit tipsy at the Studio Movie Grill! haha

Away We Go – John Krainski is scruffy in the movie. He loves me, so what can i say!  I’m serious! Tall, white, scruffy men have a thing for me. Just ask him;) Plus Alexi Murdoch’s All My Days is the song they picked for the trailer.  Strings make my heart happy, happy! :)

Dead Snow – Two words “Nazi Zombies!”

Year One – Two words, “Jack Black.”  Plus the director is the one that is currently working on the Ghostbusters 3 movie. =D In the movie, Black plays a caveman. LMAO  You have to see this hilarious comic my friend sent me. He’s a trip. It’s called the invention of a wingman. (Click here)

The Proposal – I love romantic comedies! *le sigh* Especially with great people like Sandra Bullock and hot ass Ryan Reynolds (hot hot hot stuff!!)

Transformers – Do I even need to tell you why? I mean come on! I grew up in the 80’s with a Barbie, My Little Pony, She-Ra and Transformer at my tea parties. Although, I’m Mexican, I didn’t call them tea parties, I called them “Jugando a las comadres.” LMAO

My Sister’s Keeper – Tear jerker. I’ve already read the book by Jodi Picoult.  Her books are always like that, huh?  But I don’t think it was worse then the Lovely Bones.

Public Enemies - “I have absolutely nothing I want to do in Indiana.” I loved Marion Cotillard in “La vie en rose.”

So many more coming out. The Ice Age movie, the one with Adam Sandler and Seth Rogan (funny guys rock!), the G.I. Joe movie…woot…The Time Traveler’s Wife (book rocked).  Yeah, good summer! :)

A bit off a tangent here, but years ago when I was young enough to read teen people, I remember reading this article about jobs you didn’t know existed.  One of the jobs this one girl had was she would go into businesses and get hired to select the perfect music for the ambiance. Owners hired her after she told someone in a diner that the music they played really did not go with their clientele. As soon as they changed the music they got more customers.

Anyways, I was thinking, you know what would be an awesome job, to be that person who selects the music for a movie. Wouldn’t that be great. The tuneage swag alone would rock. Then I could wear this tshirt and MEAN it. ;)

If you catch any or all of the above movies mentioned, let me know what you think. I’m always up for movie chat!
