joel - its one of those rare shows that can be funny, poignant, thought provoking, dramatic, all in one episode! and it never tries too hard, and the acting is pheonminal, and the attention to detail is unmatched! plus it has that Sopranos/The Wire quality of making you relate to characters you have next to nothing in common with, to the point where you feel an almost emotional investment in them... and they give depth to every character... you can't even completely hate Pete Campbell after his borderline nanny rape and general douchbaggery because you've seen so much of him that you know him... wow, just, wow... what a show!October 7, 2009 - 9:59 am

joel - @laurie- I actually don't think he'll go for that teacher because she seemed a little too unstable and wacky for Don's taste... he was clearly uncomfortable with her whole, "I want you to hit on me, but don't you dare hit on me" vibe... but then again, they sure have invested a lot of screen time in her so we probably shouldn't rule it out either!October 7, 2009 - 10:06 am

joel - @cad- I think anyone willing to invest the time into two or three episodes would be hooked, but the problem with the really great shows now is that its intimidating to get in when youve missed so much backstory... you basically have to go and buy all the past season DVDs and start from the begining, although I never saw the first season so I made up for it with wikipediaOctober 7, 2009 - 10:10 am

laurie - @joel i wouldn't rule it out just yet. the role playing scene in rome was out of this world sexy. my goodness. there wasn't even any sex yet and it was just downright nasty. LOL that's talent. this show is phenomenal.October 7, 2009 - 10:11 am

joel - yes and I love when they get Betty all dolled up and let her show off a bit... we've only seen her pregnant and dressed down all year long so its easy to forget how breathtakingly gorgeous she can be... my heart will always be with Joan of course, but wow, Mrs Draper has still got "it".October 7, 2009 - 10:37 am
